Welcome to the official website of the Windy City Collector Barbie Doll Club! We
would like to take a few minutes to introduce ourselves to you so that you can see
how much fun we have.
The Windy City Collector’s Barbie Doll Club was founded in March of 1992 by Julie
Bronski. Because of her love for Barbie, Julie wanted to create a forum for
Chicago-area Barbie doll collectors to interact. So she passed out flyers at doll
shows and placed an ad in Barbie Bazaar magazine. Seventeen years later, the
Windy City Collector’s Barbie Doll Club is still going strong with Windy City being
one of the best known Barbie doll clubs in the Midwest.
From the beginning, the general purpose of the club would be for collectors
and lovers of Barbie to share their passion with fellow enthusiasts. We have since
broadened our audience to include those who love fashion dolls, but
Barbie is still our favorite doll.
In addition to monthly meetings where we get together to share and show-off our
latest treasures, we have two annual programs to benefit the community. Each
year, we sponsor a Doll Display and Raffle as part of the Our Favorite Doll Show.
Proceeds benefit a chosen charity. Past benefactors have included CAFF,
Make-A-Wish of Illinois and PAWS. Each Christmas season, we have a
toy drive where we collect and deliver toys to area shelters. Additionally,
we have serviced the community in other ways including food drives and
sending supplies to the Katrina recovery effort.
For additional information Contact Us or make plans to visit one of our meetings by checking out our Meeting Schedule. Also, we hope you check out our Photo Galleries to see what we've been up to.
