The Windy City Collectors meets every month, usually on the 2nd Thursday of the month (please check
the schedule below for exact meeting dates).
During odd numbered months (Jan/01, Mar/03, May/05, Jul/07, Sep/09, and Nov/11), we hold our Business
Meetings. During the first part of the meeting, we run through any business that we need to discuss to
keep our club running smoothly. The second half of the meeting is Show 'n Tell.
During even numbered months (Feb/02, Apr/04, Jun/06, Aug/08, Oct/10, and Dec/12), we hold Fun Nights.
Fun Nights are where we get together to socialize, getting to know each other and sharing our items or
helpful hints. We also use these meetings for planned activities and workshops. During these meetings,
we also have Show 'n Tell.
Show 'n Tell is a chance for us to showcase part or all of our collections, new purchases, accessories or
any other doll related items we'd like to. We also have suggested monthly themes for our Show 'n Tells
(see list below).
| 2021 Meeting Schedule January 14th - Business Meeting Theme: Quarantine Activities Show us what you and your dolls have been doing during our past few months of quarantine. February 11th - Fun Nite Theme: Astrology/Zodiac/Age of Aquarius Exploring all things having to do with astrology, zodiac, and the like. March 11th - Business Meeting Theme: First Date - All About Ken Ken turns 60 this month so this month is all about Ken! April 8th - Fun Nite Theme: Hollywood Glam Barbie is always the glam girl, but this month we celebrate that old fashioned Hollywood Glamour. May 13th - Business Meeting Theme: May Flowers This month we are going all things floral. Flowers...flowers...flowers!! June 10th - Fun Nite Theme: Brides June is the month for weddings so we are celebrating with Brides. Whether old fashioned or new, or a new way of doing things post (that virus that shall not be named). July 8th - Business Meeting Theme: Let The Countdown Begin Windy City Collectors is hosting the 2022 Convention next July. So let the countdown to next year's Convention begin!! August 12th - Fun Nite Theme: Flea Market Swap and sell your unwanted treasures September 9th - Business Meeting Theme: Pretty in Pink Everything looks better in pink...afterall, that is Barbie's signature color!! We will make everything pinkalicious so pink it up and put on those pink rose colored glasses and celebrate Pretty in Pink! October 14th - Fun Nite Theme: Homecoming in Willows, WI It is October...time for Homecoming!! We will be transported to Willows, WI where we will do all things Homecoming. Come ready for the game or ready for the dance. Or maybe you've got the Homecoming King and Queen. We'll make it a great Homecoming!! November 11th - Business Meeting Theme: All About Accessories It's all about the accessories. They can be fashion accessories like purses, shoes and jewelry or home accessories like pillows and plants. It's all about things that make things better...even Ken as Barbie's accessory! December 9th - Fun Nite Theme: Holiday Traditions December has so many holidays. As we celebrate them, let's learn all about the holiday traditions...Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and New Year's too! Show your family's traditions and the fun ways you and your dolls celebrate. |
